Aerial firing and fireworks celebrate Afghanistan's historic victory in Kabul



In the ICC ODI World Cup, Afghanistan's historic victory over Pakistan started to be celebrated in the Afghan province of Kabul, aerial firing and fireworks were also set off.


On Monday, Afghanistan pulled off a major upset in the World Cup, defeating Pakistan for the first time to win the event for the second time.

Afghanistan easily chased down Pakistan's target of 283 runs in 49 overs for the loss of 2 wickets, Ibrahim Zadran scoring 87 runs.


It is Afghanistan's first victory against Pakistan in the One Day International, while the Afghan team has done the second upset in the current World Cup.

Earlier, Afghanistan had pulled off a major upset by defeating defending champions England.
Anas Haqqani, the main leader of the Taliban, has congratulated the Afghan team on the historic victory against Pakistan.

Anas Haqqani issued a statement on X (formerly Twitter) and said that 'Our cricket is in a better condition than before, for the first time we have defeated England and Pakistan, you all should be proud of this great success'.
