Aidan Michael Walter Hazzard was born on January 7, 1991, in La Louvière and grew up in Braine-le-Comte. His mother, Karen, and father, Thierry, were both footballers.

His father spent most of his career at the semi-professional level with La Louvière in the Belgian second division, playing primarily as a defensive midfielder.
Her mother played as a Belgian women's first-division striker and stopped playing when she was three months pregnant with Aiden.
After playing football, both parents became sports teachers. Thierry retired from his post in 2009 to devote more time to his children.
